(Q1). 15 litres of a mixture of milk and water in the ratio 2:1, the amount of milk added to the mixture so as to have milk and water in the ratio 5:2 ?

Solution:-

In 15L of mixturemilk = water = 20 + 2x = 25 ⟹ AnsAlternatively: -Milk Water 2 1 5 2 13(2+1) ⟶ 151 ⟶ 5water quantity sameAnswer

(Q2). 72 litres of a mixture contains milk and water in the ratio of 27:5. How much more water is to be added to get a mixture containing milk and water in the ratio 3:1 ?
Solution:-

Milk Water 27 5 3 1279427 + 5 721Ans

(Q3). A mixture contains milk and water in the ratio 5:1, on adding 5L of water the ratio of milk and water becomes 5:2. Find the quantity of milk in the mixture?
Solution:-

milk = 5x
water = x

5xx+5=52

10x = 5x + 25
x = 5
∴ milk = 5×5 = 25L     Ans

 

Alternatively:Milk Water 5 1 5 25×51⟶5= 25 Ans
